Isa - 歐洲走逛

城市的天際線總是我最喜歡的景點之一，登高望下更是描述城市風貌的最好方式，像是走捷徑一般，一次把一整座城市盡收眼底。遙望遠方奇特的建築，嚷嚷著下一站就決定是那裡了，常常也是我多漫無目的閒晃的旅遊中規劃行程的方式。

於是到了柏林，總要站上柏林大教堂(Berliner Dom)，藉著一座座拱頂的隙縫觀看這座不久前還被分隔成兩半的城市。公寓或玻璃帷幕大樓景觀通常不是吸引我的風格，柏林雖然保有許多老建築，卻顯然也十分現代化，建築工地與高高的怪手們佔據了城市的大部分，乍看之下有十分衝突的新與舊。走過五天後，我認知到柏林雖然不是座美麗的城市，但是座迷人的城市。在這裡，太多事件隨時在進行，各式餐肆茶館(聽說酒館也很有名)橫行，年輕而有活力。

The skyline of the city is always one of my favorite "tourist spots." If one climbs high and looks down, one can find the best way to describe a city. To me, it is like a shortcut to see the whole city at once. Looking at the unique and far-away buildings and deciding what spot to visit next is often my lazy way to plan a trip.

Being in Berlin, climbing up the Berliner Dom seems like a must, so is viewing this city through the gaps between the doms, observing its recent past of splitted identities. Modern buildings or glass windows usually are not the styles that attract me. Here in Berlin, though lots of old buildings still are in their old spots, the city itself is very much modernized in building style. Construction sites and tall, obtrusive machines occupy most of the city, bringing a conflicting sense between new and old in a glance. After five days, I realized that even though Berlin is not a beautiful city, it is definitely a charming one. Numbers of incidents are occuring here all the times, and one can find all kinds of restaurants or tea houses just around the corner. It is a young (though not in its exact age) and lively city.
